Growing up in the Tuscan countryside, Matteo became fascinated by weathered walls, quiet landscapes, and the textures shaped by time. Rather than depicting specific places, he paints atmosphere through layered surfaces, earthy tones, and expressive palette-knife work, creating paintings that bring warmth and calm into modern interiors.

Inside the canvas

Built with repeated palette-knife layers, Matteo's paintings develop depth through texture rather than strong contrast. Earth pigments, irregular surfaces, and softened transitions allow natural light to interact differently throughout the day, giving each canvas a quiet sense of movement.
